Michael and Emily
I Do - 1999 - Forever
Our Family, Home, and Barn.
Here is our Story
Our History
Married in 1999 we've been extremely blessed to share twenty-five years together. With four biological kids and an answer to prayers with a French speaking young man from West Africa joining the family, our hearts and home have been full. Promoting marriage and the family unit has remained a constant theme in our thoughts and ministry over the years. Combined with the many years experience Emily has had with coordinating weddings (and Michael with building things for her events), tt's no surprise that we both have a fondness for one of the biggest days in most peoples lives, the Wedding Day! With this in mind we've worked for the last seven years to turn this beautiful historic property into a place that would indeed create a special kind of history for many. We'd love for you to see the journey of this beautiful property as we continue working to bring the Elias Pitzer House, the Dairy Barn, and Wagon Shed, and farm fields to their best lives yet.
Our Name
A question we wrestled with for several years was what to name this special place. Hundreds of names, many scratch pads, and two years of pondering suddenly turned into a eureka moment. Deriving inspiration from family photos and looking out the window at what would become known as the beautiful and large windowed gable number five of our barn was when it became settled. "Wait, we have a five gable barn with a spectacular gable and we also have five kids whose names form the acrostic for G (Gavin) A (Abdou) B (Briggs) L (Lacee) and E (Emmalyn)!" There was no doubt this was the morning that Gable Five was officially born. We are proud of the kids and the effort that they have put into making this a special place. When you celebrate the biggest day of your life here, know that the GABLE five have invested in your day as well. Let them know when you see them around that you appreciate their handiwork.
Gavin
Gavin is freshly graduated from Mussleman High School. He was one of the leading scorers on his basketball team as a junior and senior and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Smart, quiet, and charming, Gavin has lots of options ahead.
Abdou
Abdou just graduated from Fordam University where he has been a standout on the Rams Basketball team. Rising in many areas, Abdou was recently invited to play for the olympic team of Cameroon. He is mature, forward thinking, and extremely loyal.
Briggs
Briggs is in his senior year at Indianapolis where he will lead his basketball team as they look to put this team on the map. Briggs had the opporunity to play in March Madness scoring against the eventual national champions, Baylor. Briggs is fun, diligent, and easy going.
Lacee
Lacee is in her second year at Pensacola Christian College where she is studying early childhood education. Independent, observant, and very likable, Lacee has provided inspiration for the wedding venue and has contributed greatly to our social media presence.
Emmalyn
Emmayln is our youngest. She is creative, empathetic, and kind. She loves to serve and is always looking out for others. Her favorite sport is volleyball. She is homeschooled with Classical Conversations and loves her once a week in class day with her friends and cousins.
Our Vision
Our dreams took a big step forward in 2017 as we found the historic and beautiful Elias Pitzer house and farm. Highlighting the heritage of this great property while working together as a family has been a long labor of love AND we still have big plans! We can't wait to finish and are excited about the memories that will be made.

Gable Five isn't just a beautiful wedding venue it's also a working farm. While we used to be a dairy farm, we currently make hay, keep honey bees, and most excitingly, we are actively preparing for what we look to be a large part of our business - growing and operating a cut your own tree Christmas tree farm! Our goal is to have a premier spot in Berkeley County to pick and cut your own Christmas tree while enjoying the festivities of the holiday season. We envision live music, wreath making, holiday sales, cocoa and cider, food, and fun.
